TRAVELLING IN KASSANDRA

Starting from the north and moving along the east coast, we meet the first village, Nea Fokea, a picturesque fishing village, built on the hill and “leaning” over the blue sea. The Byzantine tower in the area, and the medieval building of Stavronikitas that dominates just a few km further, in the cosmopolitan Sani, reminiscent of old glories, right by the glory of the –nearly Ionean crystal blue- water.

Afitos , further sout , is perhaps the most scenic of the options of the first leg, as the stone streets and traditional architecture make it one of the most beautiful villages of the region. If you prefer more vigorous life, Hanioti, Kalithea are next, and have to line up the heavy artillery of fun, as the most famous Thessaloniki clubs are transferred hear for summer periods, where “bunches” of patrons every summer could be part of a videoclip from striking a summer hit.

If you have a car, keep the path to the amphitheatrically built Kriopigi to taste the local dishes, or until Polyhrono village, around which you will discover a pond with turtles. Pefkochori and Palioyri, almost on the edge of the stripe of the first leg, have beautiful beaches and some beach bars, without the excessive crowds of Kallithea .

In the “west coast” of Kassandra dominates Poseidi hosting the camping of students in Thessaloniki, while there are gothered the beach lovers of watersports, since the air “blesses” the coast with nature. The nightlife finds refuge at the beach bars in Fourka, while the fishing village of New Skioni offers the choice of a cool respite for fresh fish and relax.
