Halkidiki s 92 blue flags!
For another year, Halkidiki has won the primary place in Greece with ninety-two blue flags (presented below), as declared by the Hellenic Society for the Protection of Nature, the national manager of the Program. Blue flag has been awarded since 1987 to beaches and marinas that meet tight prize conditions (thirty-three criteria). The program was launched in France in 1985(its international manager is the Environmental Education Foundation). All major travel agencies pay specific attention to them once selecting the destinations of their customers because the blue flags mirror the guarantee of the prime quality services offered on the coasts and marinas. Finally, the blue flag is the world's most widespread and recognizable eco-quality image everywhere on the planet.
