LARGE INCREASE IN TOURISM FROM GERMANY
Double-digit percentage raise in Greece as a
destination in 2014 is estimated by the leading Tour Operator TUI for German
tourists. The main reason for the large increase is the fact that Greece has
been repositioned as one of the most
popular tourist destinations, while there are no negative reports about the
country.
In a recent meeting between executives of TUI
with Greek hoteliers the first ones have expressed their optimism about the
course of Greek tourism and their satisfaction with the level of cooperation
they have. The representatives of the German Tour Operator stressed the
particularly important role played by hoteliers in producing quality travel
experiences that meet the modern requirements of customers, with the aim that
the German visitors choose Greece for their holidays.
In this context TUI Germany presented its
strategy, which focuses on four pillars which include diversification of travel
products, improved quality, investment in digital technology, as well as
flexibility and adaptability to market needs.
Alltours agency, on the other hand, was the
only Tour Operator that, even in difficult times for Greek tourism, conducted
special campaigns and promotion for investing in Greece. It seems fully
vindicated in 2013, as it recorded a 26% increase of tourists moving to Greece.
For 2014 the Alltours expects to reach and surpass pre-crisis levels, recording
very high demand especially for major destinations, i.e. Rhodes, Kos and Crete.
In parallel, the company is expanding its program in Greece, increasing the
number of hotels that offers exclusively to its customers.
