ENHANCEMENT FOR THE SEAPLANE PORTS IN GREECE
The realization of private investments in seaplane
ports is close now, with the decision of the expediting of the environmental
licensing of waterways across Greece. The Minister of Environment, Energy and
Climate Change, G. Maniatis, met with the head of Hellenic Seaplanes and put
into discussion all the issues emerging from this new sector of investment and
its environmental procedures. The core of the conversation was the construction
of the necessary infrastructure (ports) all around Greece, before the summer
season 2014 begins, so to provide the business support to the seaplanes.
Hellenic Seaplanes presented their investment
program and its objectives, so that this time the effort succeeds and seaplanes
are established in our country. The president and CEO, Nikolas Charalambous,
said that the investment, due to the strategic character will create favorable
investment environment for the exploitation of isolated regions and is expected
to enable implementation and incentives for tourism investment in the region of
seaplanes.
Giannis Maniatis, confirmed the government's will
to support this new activity, pointing to the multiple benefits that
implementation would result, such as job creation, regional development,
infrastructure development and networks, positive effects on tourism and
stimulate domestic industry at this critical juncture where is Greece. In
addition, he pledged to overhaul all requests to be submitted and will receive
immediate response.
